The health nonprofits are covering an extensive array of organizations that are concerned with the mind or body. Substances abuse and other treatment programs, hospitals, disease research and disease, specialty research and medical disciplines, and mental crisis and mental health services all belong to this category.

  • Substance Abuse and Addiction

    These include organizations providing substance abuse and addiction education programs for those who are at risk for such problems in an effort of preventing their involvement with alcohol and/or drugs.

  • Disease Research and Diseases

    Voluntary health organizations that are active in treatment and prevention of diseases and conditions that are specifically named. These also include the organizations conducting research that can be used for improving the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of particularly named diseases and conditions.

  • Health Care Programs and Facilities

    Organizations that exist as fund raising entity and support for the multihospital healthcare systems, single institutions, and the same diversified health systems made up of the closely affiliated organizations that belong to the healthcare major group area.

  • Specialty Research and Medical Disciplines

    These include organizations with activities focusing on influencing the public policy in the major group area of medical disciplines. These also include various activities from the public education as well as influencing the public opinion to the lobbying state and national legislatures. These also include organizations conducting research that can be used for improving the choices available to the physicians that have special expertise and training in a single clinical practice area that focuses on a certain age group, a body’s organ system or complicated scientific techniques developed for diagnosing or treating specific kinds of disorders.

  • Mental Crisis and Mental Health Services

    These refer to the organizations with activities focusing on influencing the public policy in the major group area of mental health and crisis intervention.
